Panelist/Moderator

For many years I've spoken on and moderated panels about recording and music for SXSW, NXNW, NARAS, TapeOpCon, PotLuckCon and CMJ.
  Guest Lecturer

I have been a guest lecturer at various colleges where I've discussed the recording arts and music business. Please email me via the contact form to see about availability and terms.
  Book Readings

In conjunction with the Tape Op Book series, I've done book readings and sessions at Wordstock and Powell's Books, in Portland, OR.
  Recording Workshops

Since 2003 I've hosted Weekend Recording Workshops at Jackpot! Recording Studio, where I run a ten person group through techniques and concepts about music recording. Students report that they gain a lot from this workshop. I've also presented workshops in other cities, including Montreal and Austin, TX. These are two 8 hour days of digging into your recording and mixing work and discussing ways to improve your music recording. Class will be limited to 10 students and is only $300. If you're interested in future workshops sign up here. If you can gather up ten people in your area that might be into a workshop with me, please drop me a line.

I also do similar one-on-one sessions with folks to discuss their recording and mixing skills and work on understanding shortcomings and improving their work. Contact me for details.
